A Department of Corrections is a governmental agency responsible for overseeing the incarceration of persons convicted of crimes within a particular jurisdiction.

AG = Attorney General

In most common law jurisdictions, the attorney general or attorney-general is the main legal advisor to the government.

DV = Domestic Violence

Physical abuse of a household member, especially one’s spouse or domestic partner.

V = Victim

One who is harmed or killed by another, especially by someone committing a criminal or unlawful act.

LE = Law Enforcement

Adjudication / Formal Judgement

Judicial sentence; judgment or decision of a court. The act of a court declaring an ascertained fact: as, an adjudication of bankruptcy.

Accused / Defendant

A party sued in a court of law, whether in a civil or a criminal proceeding; one who is summoned into court, that he may have opportunity to defend, deny, or oppose the demand or charge, and maintain his own right.
